But, I think, there are instances that, especially when you're the Sec. of State, you have to stand up and defend your principle, not allow your country to commit a horrible mistake. The politics of fear work well for those in power. The motives matter, but we have to examine the leaders' integrity and their abilities. Who can honestly argue that the Iraq war hasn't been a huge disaster.
