Bushwhacking & this Topic In Progress...

I'm taking bets. How many times is Bush going to mention "freedom" (or any variations thereof) in his State of the Union address? Stick with me, I have a point or two to make after the speech tonight.....
For starters, I say 22 times.... you can take the overs or unders...(to be continued below)
...
"Today, Iran remains the world’s primary state sponsor of terror - pursuing nuclear weapons while depriving its people of the freedom they seek and deserve." Hey, if you subed the "n" for a "q", it would ring a bell for sure! Syria, don't forget Syria! The Syrians are hiding Saddam's WMD. Ask Rummy or Wolf. I'll take that with Rice please.
...
"For the good of families, children, and society, I support a constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage." Protect from what, or whom? You know you can marry that stripper you just met. What? It's your fourth marriage? You both cheated on your spouses? Well, at least you're not gay! Problem is that the highest divorce rates are in the "red" states, and the lowest in the liberal Massachusetts! Go figure.
...
"holds the growth of discretionary spending below inflation, and stays on track to cut the deficit in half by 2009." Half of what amount exactly? At any rate, Dubya will retire as a multi-millionaire and leave us with the tab. I say, cut all those services not required by the rich. Truth or dare?
...
"My budget substantially reduces or eliminates more than 150 government programs that are not getting results, or duplicate current efforts,or do not fulfill essential priorities." See? Now, is our education system achieving results? Depends on the kind of results you'd like. Let's replace science and critical thinking with divine inspiration and other "theories" of the absurd and wait for the results. It won't be long.
...
"The United States has no right, no desire, and no intention to impose our form of government on anyone else."......."And when that result is achieved, our men and women serving in Iraq will return home" Ah, OK, just making sure of our objectives.
---

Woa! I stayed up all night counting words. I missed it by this much. It seems that the word "freedom" was mentioned 20 times, more than his inaugural speech, and 2 fewer than my prediction. I would have counted "fat-free" and even "freesbe" but Dubya was well-rehearsed. Thanks to all those who e-mailed me and posted comments. The unders have it, though it remains to be decided who came closer to freedom. Also, the "terror/terrorists" beat "freedom" by 6 in a combined effort! "Osama," "balanced budget," and "I/we've made mistakes" were missing, but they will be hunted down and killed for good in the next four years. Guaranteed!

When you say mispronunciations, I don't know how Dubya can screw up this simple word... .yet, again...
Now, do you mean anything that contains "free" counts? How about "fat free" or "freeze"?

16, and I'll give you irrelevant words such as freeze, unfreeze, freesbe, freeway, freeking...

Only once! Early on, after that he'll refer to "freedom" as the "F" word!

Did you participate in the drinking game? Like the word "freedom" was worth one shot! The word "social security" a pint of beer! If, however, Bush said anything resembling, "I made some mistakes.. I take responsibility..." then you'd be the designated driver and not drink! (horrors!.....though it wasn't very likely)

I'm pissed off.... I played the drinking game PLUS! The plus was to make out with the person next to eachother if Bush mentioned... OSAMA (bin misin)! Darn!
There goes another opportunity to score big!

I think "Iraq/Iraqis" must be up there in times mentioned. Anyway, did you see the ink-stained fingers of some Republicans? They did so to demonstrate solidarity with the Irqi voters! This is freaking crazy. Tom Delay and Hastert don't allow them to vote on anything anymore! How ironic...

I also caught Sharpton last night saying that if Bush cared for Americans casting their ballots as much as he cared for Iraqis, Kerry would be president today. Nice jab!

Speaking of Iraq...

"Iraq has replaced Afghanistan as the training ground for the next generation of ‘professionalized’ terrorists, according to a report released yesterday by the National Intelligence Council, the CIA director’s think tank.
Iraq provides terrorists with "a training ground, a recruitment ground, the opportunity for enhancing technical skills," said David B. Low, the national intelligence officer for transnational threats.
"There is even, under the best scenario, over time, the likelihood that some of the jihadists who are not killed there will, in a sense, go home, wherever home is, and will therefore disperse to various other countries.”

Yeah, but I've been told that two thirds of AlQueda have been eliminated! Was it not true? I'm confused.

Bush is just not credible on the topic of freedom- anyone with any common sense knows that is not what is in his heart

Also, Bush doesn't care about that marraige stuff. What happened was that the White House leaked that Bush was gonna ignore his campaign stuff about marraige now that the election was over. The amendment was proposed for the election, precisely because they (GOP) knew it had no chance, thus they could wink to socially liberal elite that funds the party. They don't care about that stuff- it's what Moynihan would call "Boob Bait For Bubbas."

So there was a big reaction to these leaks on the right, so the SOTU speech was to mollify them - but it will soon be forgotten, along with Bush's little Mars program.

The Wead tapes reveal who contrived this BS is.
